What types of photography or videography can be done at Hertford Studios?
We cater to a diverse range of creatives, from industry professionals to beginners. Our studio is equipped to handle various projects, including portraits, product shoots, lifestyle imagery, and small to larger video productions, including commercials and promotional content. We can also accommodate larger setups for vehicles. Whatever your creative vision, we are committed to meeting almost all requirements and providing the ideal space for your work.
What are the studio dimensions?
Our infinity cove measures 7.5m (w) x 5.5m (d) x 3.75m (h), with a reinforced concrete floor. We also have a white box area measuring 4m x 4.5m. The full white studio space spans a total of 1,765 square feet, while our lifestyle area provides a spacious 1,695 square feet.
Can I rent one particular area, or do I need to rent the entire studio?
Yes, you can hire individual areas, and the cost will reflect this. However, if you plan to record audio, we recommend booking the full studio space, as we cannot guarantee noise control if other areas are in use.
Can I rent equipment at the studio?
We are looking to offer equipment rental in the very near future to meet your production needs.
What’s the difference between “hire” and “rent” on this site?
We use “hire” and “rent” interchangeably to mean booking time in our studio spaces. Whether you see “hire” or “rent,” it refers to the same service.
Is the studio accessible by public transport?
Yes, we are easily accessible by all modes of transport, including proximity to Hertford North train station and major road links like the A1M and M25.
Do you provide parking?
Yes, we have ample free parking available, and we can supply four spaces as standard. However, if the expected number of attendees exceeds this or if larger vehicles are required, please let us know in advance.
What facilities are available on-site?
We offer a dedicated lifestyle area, various painted settings, original rustic brickwork, and customisable spaces for your creative needs.
How do I book the studio?

Are there any additional services offered?
We will be hosting workshops and masterclasses for industry equipment suppliers, educational establishments, and photography clubs and associations. We are keen to speak with anyone interested in using the space for these functions.
Can I tour the studio before booking?
Yes, we encourage potential clients to visit and tour the studio to see the space and discuss their project needs.
What are your opening hours?
Our standard studio hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. However, the studio can be opened 24 hours, 7 days a week upon request, with additional charges applying for unsociable hours.
Do you offer catering?
Yes, we can arrange on-site catering or lunch deliveries to keep you and your team energised throughout your session. If catering is required, please let us know at the time of booking, as additional fees will apply.
Do I get any equipment with the booking?
Yes, we provide two standard strobe lights and stands as part of your booking at no extra charge. Additional equipment, including cameras, continuous lighting, C-Stands, reflectors, and large softboxes, will incur an additional rental fee.
Are there toilets on site?
Yes, we have a public toilet on-site for your convenience.
Can I store products and equipment there before my shoot?
Yes, you can drop off your props the day before your session or leave them overnight and pick them up the next day. However, please note that we charge a flat holding fee of £100 per evening. This fee reserves the room for your props and ensures that it cannot be booked by another client during that time. Additionally, this fee covers the cost of arranging staffing to assist in the drop-off and pick-up.
If you need to arrange for prop holding, please contact us in advance to ensure availability and make the necessary arrangements.
Do you have paper backdrops?
Yes, we keep several rolls of Colorama paper backdrops in our rooms. Please send us an email at hello@hertfordstudios.co.uk if you would like to request one, and we can send you sample images of the colours we currently stock. Each Colorama use is £15.
Please note that we will set up the Colorama for your session, and please remember to treat the paper with care when you set the roll up and put it away.
